Demonstration Against Dominican's President L. Fernandez in front of ONU

New York City.- While thousands of Dominicans attended a re-election campaign party for president Leonel Fernández, several community organizations picketed and protested in the street outside the venue, preventing some attendees from getting in.
They were also protesting against the Dominican government’s criminalization of deportees, and called for the president to intercede in the migratory debate in the United States and to recognize the rights of Haitians, Dominico-Haitians and Haitians born in the Dominican Republic in the same way as Dominicans in the U.S.
