Ezili Danto's counter-narrative to the Associated Press' current Neocolonial Narrative in "Haiti's tourism dreams deferred by riots."

No. Haiti's dream of democracy, Haitian-owned tourism, and sovereignty - food and security sovereignty - were "deferred,"

not by food riots but by the Bush dynasty's two regime changes to Haiti's democratic governments,
free trade that destroyed Haiti's agriculture and UN slaughtering, raping in order to pacify dissent.

Don't believe the hype. The violence in Haiti is not caused, as this AP report ("Haiti's tourism dreams deferred by riots") tells it by hungry, starving Haitians.

But by US dumping subsidized American rice and foods that destroyed Haiti's food sovereignty. Then, after destroying Haitian human rights with two coup d'etats, saddling Haiti with a UN protectorate so that Haiti's natural resources could be fleeced at the point of a UN gun, while humanitarian NGOs, aid workers rush in bandying about their "generosity to Haitians" to raise funds abroad that mostly go, not to help Haitian self-sufficiency but to pay for their own children private education and for their life as mini monarchs in Haiti.

Behind the media's spins and racist reporting of the "recalcitrant, unable-to-rule-self and violent Black Haitians," the Haitian people starve, are contained-in-poverty, stripped of their human rights and democratic leaders and being abused and raped by said same "benevolent humanitarians."

The AP and other mainstream press reportings on Haiti are nothing less than another sort of rape and abuse.

"But by US dumping subsidized American rice and foods that destroyed Haiti's food sovereignty."

how do they dump rice and foods in Haiti?Do they put guns in the heads of haitians and order them to buy the rice? Why can't we dump our avocados and mangoes in the United States? Do they dump their rice in the Domincan Republic? Are we blaming them because they subsidize their growers in order to produce enough food to feed their people?

I am not condoning the coup d'etat in haiti ,however we have to blame the mercenaries who took arms against the constitutional gouvernment of their country. If a government, despite warnings from the President of the United states, can not control the drug trade tolerated by high government officials in the Palace, and the United States used these mercenaries to overthrow the government one has to blame the United states government for arming these mercenaries ,but one has to blame also these officials who tolerated the drug dealers in the national palace and in the senate.Did the United States government has the right to invade Panama and arrest manuel Noriega?of course not.But when you are living in a world which is governed by the laws of the jungle it is imperative that the weakest nations build institutions that prevent the strongest countries to interfere with their affairs.

When you make a deal with the devil you have to respect the clauses of the contract ,otherwise you will pay the consequences when you break it.There is no free lunch in this world. If I had a friend who is disloyal it is incumbent upon me to break the relationship.Gran moun pa kriye. You're blaming them for all your sufferings yet every day you're asking them to help you;to lend you money despite the bad requirements of these loans. Why did your government agree to particpate in the free trade agrement in oder to obtain the loans.?.It doesn't make any sense to me to keep complaining every day ;Since i was a young man i've been hearing the same song :Americans do this ,americans do that ;recall your Ambassador from Washington and ask the U.S Ambassador to leave your country;then and only then I will understand your complaints. Why did Aristide come to the United States 'why didn't he stay in venezuela or any other country? Why did he accept to return to haiti under the protection of the marines;why did he employ an american security company to protect him?

Read an editorial in the new York Times you will see how much money investment firms are pouring into agriculture ;they buying farm lands in Brazil ,canada , Britain all over the world. What are you doing?buying cars for deputies and paying diplomats whereas your people are eating dirt.If you do not have enough common sense to give priority to what is essential to the welfare of your citizens then you can not blame others who care about theirs .When Fidel Castro buys food from the United States because of shortage in his country is it a dumping of american food in Cuba?we should be grateful for the food donations they give us instead of blaming them for our inconsequences.
