Delta Air Lines plans to introduce a bit of competition to the New York market this summer.
Starting June 20, Delta is offering non-stop New York flights to Port-au-Prince, Haiti (PAP). These new Haiti flights will put Delta in head-to-head competition with incumbent American Airlines.
But Delta didn't stop there -- the airline will launch non-stop flights from New York LaGuardia (LGA) to Bermuda (BDA) beginning May 22. Right now, travelers wanting Bermuda flights from New York can opt for American Airlines flights or JetBlue flights from New York Kennedy, and Continental Airlines from Newark Liberty International (EWR).
To kick off the new flights, Delta is offering discounted airfare to both destinations.
Delta is offering an each-way introductory discount fare to Port-au-Prince for $129, exclusive of taxes and fees. Book and buy by Feb. 23 and fly between June 20 and July 31. You’ll have to make a round-trip purchase on Delta's Web site for the lowest price.
For Bermuda flights, Delta is offering a $129 each-way deal. Purchase your seat by Feb. 23 and fly between May 22 and July 15. This rate a lso requires a roundtrip purchase, and doesn’t include taxes or fees.
