| Quelques parmi les nombreux projets de reconstruction post-cyclonique et de croissance économique à Petit-Goâve financés par l’USAID.
De meilleures routes à Petit Goâve - Rues Gaston, Lafond, et Liberté
A
travers CHF-KATA, l'USAID procède à la réparation de 1.6 kilomètres de
route en brique et de systèmes de canalisation au centre de
Petit-Goâve, au carrefour de jonction de la Route Nationale No. 2 et
l’Avenue La Hatte. Le projet a fourni 1.000 emplois à court terme et a
conduit à des routes améliorées et a aussi permis de protéger 4.000
personnes contre les inondations. Le budget total de ce projet était
au-dessus des US$900.000, incluant environ 19% de contributions
locales.
Lutte contre les inondations au canal de Masse-à-Houlot
Par
le biais de CHF-KATA, l'USAID est en train de réparer 3.4 kilomètres de
canaux à l'Acul (à l'Ouest de Petit-Goâve) protégeant 10.000 personnes
qui ont été historiquement menacées par l'inondation, et permettant
l'irrigation des récoltes. Ce projet a généré 1.700 emplois à court
terme. Le budget total de ce projet est d’environ US$870.000, y compris
18% en contributions et partage des coûts.
Réparation du canal d'irrigation de Cavanack
A
travers l’OIM et en partenariat avec le Bureau Agricole Communal (BAC)
et la Municipalité de Petit-Goâve, l'USAID procède à la réparation de
1.350 mètres de canaux d'irrigation en vue d’aider les fermiers à
augmenter leur production agricole. Un montant de US$67.307 était
approuvé en ce sens et ce projet prendra fin en novembre 2009.
Réparation du canal d'irrigation à Nan Robert
Dans
la zone agricole de Nan Robert, l'USAID a fourni un montant de
US$38.620 pour la réhabilitation de 875 mètres de canaux, créant ainsi
683 emplois à court terme.
La Route de Béatrice relie la Communauté agricole de Béatrice à la Route Nationale #2
A
travers le CHF, l'USAID entreprend la construction de 1 kilomètre de la
nouvelle route de montagne s'étendant de la Route nationale #2 vers
une zone agricole principale de Petit-Goâve. Les travaux ont commencé
en juillet 2009 et sont programmés pour s’achever en septembre 2009. Le
projet inclura un canal de drainage pour protéger la route, renforcer
les bandes de béton armé pour faciliter les véhicules à voyager sans
risque et laisser de l'espace à côté de la Route Nationale #2 pour les
marchands locaux. Cette route desservira approximativement 14.000
résidants de la région, et aidera des fermiers à acheminer leurs
produits à Petit-Goâve. Le coût des travaux de la route avoisine les
US$300.000.
Réadaptation de l'Ecole National de Vialet - Roseline Vaval
Par
le biais de CHF, l'USAID réhabilite une école nationale. Le projet
inclut la construction de 3 nouvelles salles de classe, la rénovation
de 8 salles de classe déjà existantes, et la construction d'un nouveau
système d’eau potable devant desservir l'école et une clinique médicale
adjacente - la seule clinique du genre dans la zone. L'école est située
à Vialet, Petit-Goâve, deuxième centre d’importance en matière de
population, situé à environ 20 minutes (en voiture) à l'ouest du
centre-ville. Les travaux ont commencé en juillet 2009 et sont prévus
de s’achever en septembre 2009. Les réparations de l'école et du
nouveau système d’eau potable profiteront à environ 7.000 personnes
environ. Le coût des travaux de réhabilitation de cette école s’élève
approximativement à US$112.000.

USAID-Funded Hurricane Reconstruction and Economic Growth projects in Petit-Goave
Better roads in Petit Goave – Rues Gaston, Lafond, and Liberte

Through
IOM and in partnership with the Communal Bureau of Agriculture (BAC)

In
the farming area of Nan Robert, USAID has provided US $38,620 to

Route de Beatrice Links Agricultural Community to Rte National #2
Through
CHF, USAID is building 1 kilometer of new mountain road stretching from
the Route National #2 towards a key agricultural area of Petit-Goâve.
Work began in July 2009 and is scheduled to finish in September 2009.
The project will include a drainage canal to protect the road,
reinforced concrete strips to help vehicles travel safely and space
next to Route National #2 for local merchants. This road will benefit
roughly 14,000 residents of the area, and will help farmers get their
products to Petit-Goâve. The value road work is just under
US$300,000.
Rehabilitation of Ecole National de Vialet – Roseline Vaval
Through
CHF, USAID is rehabilitating a national school. The project includes
construction of 3 new classrooms, the rehabilitation of 8 existing
classrooms, and the construction of a new potable water system to serve
both the school and an adjacent medical clinic – the only such clinic
in the area. The school is located in Vialet, Petit-Goâve’s secondary
population center, located about 20 minutes by car to the West of
downtown. Work began in July 2009 and is scheduled to finish in
September 2009. The improvements to both the school and water system
will benefit an estimated 7,000 people in the area. The value of this
school rehabilitation is about US$112,000.
