As AKASAN delegate, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude for your contribution to the Ayiti Vivan Campaign, which was launched with a musical concert at Ottawa’s Bronson Centre, February 20, 2010.

We are grateful to CBC TV’s Adrian Harewood and Judy Trinh whose excellent journalistic work on the Ottawa Haitian Community, also featured AKASAN’s modest contribution to Healing Haiti

Thus far, the Ayiti Vivan Campaign has raised over $8000 in cash and several thousands of dollars in the form of in-kind contributions for survivors of the earthquake in Haiti. Your generous contributions to AKASAN ( http://www.akasan.org ) will go a long way towards assisting survivors of this terrible tragedy.

Thanks to your contributions, a 20-foot container of mobility equipment is on its way to Port-au-Prince, Haiti, scheduled to arrive at port on March 23rd. The container's content will be distributed through Ste-Croix Hospital in Leogane. Please consult the AKASAN website for the latest financial report and update.

I will be traveling to Haiti on March 23rd , in my capacity as AKASAN delegate, to monitor and document the distribution of the collected supplies.
