Whether Bill Clinton accepted or not the results of the 2000 elections in Haiti is IRRELEVANT! The fact is Haitians voted for the candidate for whom they had voted back in 1991 and it was predictable that they were going to vote in Aristide at the next opportunity they have to do so. In fact, since 1991, every time they could Haitians elected Aristide or Preval, his former Prime Minister. The fact is, the traditional political class in Haiti from whence the neo-colonial vultures choose their puppets is so useless, the US, FRANCE, CANADA and their allies have long concluded they cannot afford the risk of having Jean-Bertrand Aristide in the hemisphere - for fear that the population may still hope to re-elect him, instead of their docile puppets.
Now, many Haitians have been beaten up the head so many times, they are ready to abdicate their right to self-governance. Like the Nicaragwans who were told in no uncertain terms, they better give up on the idea of electing daniel Ortega - or else....Sam will get madder, there are Haitians who are scared shitless about the consequences of Aristide returning to his homeland, even as a simple citizen. This is like at the time of racial slavery, many subdued Africans were afraid to get Massa unhappy because of them troublemaking negroes.... so they always make it their duty to appease everyone based on what Massa dictates.....
Today, some of us are so beaten, we would be willing to see Monica Lewinsky named on the Haiti Rebuilding Commission, if this is what Massa demands.
