PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti (defend.ht) -

Fanmi Lavalas, the political party of former President Jean-Bertrand Aristide, is urging authorities to organize legislative and local elections, that were due to be held in November 2011, before the end of 2013.

Fanmi Lavalas National Coordinator Maryse Narcisse, said that her party calls on authorities to renew the third of the senate, currently inactive, and more than 140 local officials, with the next elections before the end of the year.

The political party held a meeting with its delegates representing all ten departments of the country at the Aristide Foundation for Democracy on Saturday, and it was after this meeting that Narcisse made the statements.

"Inclusive elections is an urgency in order to reinforce democracy in Haiti," said Narcisse.

As well, the coordinator took the opportunity to denounce the degrading way of living of the Haitian population. Narcisse asked for members of the party to show solidarity and support people that are going through difficult times.

Madame Narcisse said when Lavalas was in power the economic situation was not as bad as today.

Overcoming obstacles, elections possible in 2013
The Head of the Haitian Government, Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe said he had identified, after two encounters on Saturday and Wednesday with the provisional electoral council, problems that the institution is facing in organizing legislative and local elections.

In a press conference this week, the Prime Minister said that elections remain the priority of his administration as the President of the Transitional College of the Permanent Electoral Council (CTCEP) Emmanuel Menard announced that the draft electoral law would be sent to Parliament for ratification.

Electoral Councilor, Leopold Berlanger, said it is possible that the first round of elections could take place at the end of 2013 given that Parliament approves the electoral law that is to be submitted.

Neither the President of the Republic or the Prime Minister have stated explicitly an intent to see elections held in 2013. When confronted with the question of the possibility of elections in 2013 by a reporter of The Sentinel, Prime Minister Lamothe said "the decision is up to the CTCEP", the independent institution designated to organize the next electoral games.

The United States has not shied from showing its encouragement for elections, that were due to be held in November 2011, to be held in 2013. U.S. Vice President Joe Biden and the U.S. Ambassador to Port-au-Prince, Pamela White, this week, following the meeting of Lamothe and electoral officials both expressed a desire for year-ending contests.

Kote MAK vre?

Kanta pou bagay eleksyon an,ou mèt tande NÈG ap voye monte ;yo pa vle eleksyon tou non ,menm jan ak mesye MATELI yo.
Ke yo te rele OPL ,ou byen FIZYON yo pa gen kapasite MOBILIZASYON ke FL genyen.
Yo gen dwa gen yon CHANS lan NIVO la CHANM ou byen lan NIVO MINISIPALITE.

Lan NIVO SENA a ,ou byen PREZIDANS ,bliye sa ,si ELEKSYON yo LIB e LIBÈ.
Pou bannou yon EGZANP e pi pou montre kòman yon PATI ak grann kapasite mobilizasyon gen dwa kontwole yon SÈN POLITIK.

Lan RD ,pati opouvwa a gen 31 SENATÈ sou 32 lan SENA a ,e pa janm gen ""gwo"" pwotestasyon ke gen ""koken"" lan eleksyon lan RD yo.
