It is amazing and unbelievable that the concern of most politicians both in Haiti and in the United States is the organization of elections at the end of this year in Haiti. A country where people are dying with cholera, chikungunya ,malaria ,and pretty soon Ebola . Where even water is a luxury for most people. Will the election cure all Haiti's problems ?.

I know many people think to have a democratic government in Haiti it is essential that there are a President , a Prime Minister ,a bicameral Parliament, Asecs, Casecs, Delegues ,Vice delegues Communal Commissions, Departmental Commissions etc. .First of all anybody who knows Haiti understands that elections have always been occasions of discord ,hate, crimes, and division in the country. There has never been a separation of equal power between the three branches of government in Haiti. Why it is so important to organize an election at this time when millions of Haitians can not still find a place to live four years after the earthquake? The Government can not even rebuild the General Hospital, The national place and all the government buildings that were demolished by the earthquake.

Wouldn't it be more important to save the money that the government was paying these useless politicians in the Parliament to build houses, schools, hospitals, roads and all the infrastructures the country needs? Roger Gaillard said in an interview :Building schools, hospitals ,universities ,Houses ,roads are not socialist and revolutionary duties ;they are the responsibilities of the elite and the bourgeoisie. Why then it is so important in a country where 3/4 of the people are dying of malnutrition the only occupation of the politicians is to organize election?

According to what natural law does a country need to organize elections every two years even if it has to ask for foreign aid to pay for them? . The Haitian President said recently the Haitian treasury is empty. Teachers ,doctors can not get paid on time. Haitian students manifested in the streets to demand that their teachers get paid to educate them . Even ex President Manigat could not receive treatment for the chikungunya fever that killed him .There are thousand of Haitians who are dying every day because of these diseases.. In such a situation is it really the most important to do is to organize an election which most likely will divide Haitians more and create more chaos in the country?

Will the politicians work together to give the people what they need? Since when Haitians politicians have work together to develop the country and alleviate the sufferings of the people? Why is it so important to maintain this form of government that has never been able to do anything to develop the country economically? Why do we have to perpetuate something that is not working?

Even in the United States this so called democracy is not working . Take a look at what is happening between the Congress and the Executive branch of government right now because of the division of power ,and you will understand why it is so difficult for this form of government to work in Haiti. Why a poor country like Haiti must ask foreign country to help elect politicians in functions that are useless?

Is it really true this form of government is the only one that is indispensable for all countries to develop economically? I don't think so. People forget the reason why Haiti is the only country in the hemisphere that is occupied by an international military force is because of a coup d'état perpetrated by Haitians with the help of countries like France, Canada and the United States because of an election that was organized during the second mandate of President Aristide. Why do these same countries that cause the occupation of Haiti by the U.N. troops are so anxious to create more problems in the country right now.

Haitian politicians don't have any dignity and they don't love their country as much as they pretend. Why can't they use the remainder of the year to work on a new Constitution that will abolish the presidency or the Prime Minister function ;the Senate or the lower chamber ,the casecs ,asecs, Delegues ,Vice Delegues, and all these useless functions that impede the economical development of the country.

I know many people won't agree with me because they want to be President or Prime Minister, but our interests are different. Mines are to maximize the meager resources of the country for the majority of the people by investing in agriculture, in health care, housing, education, environment, justice ,security etc. I am not interested in making any crooked politician rich while the majority of the people can not eat a meal a day.

By dividing the country in 5 geographical departments as it was before Duvalier ,we can save a lot money to invest in the economical development of the country. Stop imitating the political structures of other countries .Learn to live within our means then and only then we will stop being the poorest and most corrupt country of the hemisphere.
