|Sujet: HAITIANS DEMAND ACCOUNTABILITY! (CBC interview) Lun 12 Jan 2015 - 19:18|| |
Five years ago today, the earthquake struck Haiti that killed more then 200,000 people. One of the Ottawans to watch the devastation of his home country in horror was Jean St. Vil, who hosts Haitian radio programs on local community stations. He joined us with his memories of that day five years ago, and his concerns about whether aid money has made its way into the hands of Haitians.

- The earthquake was one of 3 major disasters suffered by Haiti in the past decade:
1) February 2004 Coup d'etat, leading to foreign dictatorship
2) January 12, 2010 Earthquake
3) October 2010 Cholera epidemic brought on by UN troops who contaminated a major source of drinking water with human sewage.
